Northern California tribal woven trinket basket with lid. Collected in the late 1890s. Twined construction with 14 warps stitches and 15 wefts per inch. Twined construction with half-twist overlay in bear grass, maidenhair fern and conifer root. Stitch loss and broken section along top rim. Burn hole found on bottom. Measures about 5.5" x5" diameter. Signs of wear commensurate with age. Certificate of appraisal included ($550.00).
