Northern California Indian Shasta Klamath cooking basket bowl circa 1890s-1900s. Measures about 6" x 8.5" diameter x 7.5" opening, with 6 warps stitches and 12 wefts per inch. Twined consturction, tule cordage warp and wefts with full-twist overlay. Made of dark tan cattail leaf, brownish black bulrush root. In good condition, has a few missing stitches, no restoration. Signs of wear commensurate with age. Certificate of appraisal included ($950.00).
