Natural clay figural sculpture depicting "Lady Theresa" (per the information on the tag). With a micaceous long veil in a serene moment, appearing as if speaking a quiet prayer or blessing. The artist is well-known potter Angelina Medina (Acoma/Zia/Zuni), who made this figure without using a wheel or mold (free hand). Then white slip is applied to the surface after drying and sanding. Signed by the artist and dated 8/10/89 and measures about 18” H x 8” W x 8” D. Angelina also taught acclaimed potters Noreen Simplicio and Anderson Peynetsa.
